Collecting overflight fees in South America

Much like we all pay tolls for using roads, aircraft users pay fees for making use of a country’s airspace.

An Overview:

Much like we all pay tolls for using roads, aircraft users pay fees for making use of a country’s airspace.

However, for countries in Africa, South America, and even the richest nations in the world, the collection of these can be hindered by bureaucratic and manual systems, depriving countries of revenue worth tens of millions or more each year.

NavPass has the only solution in the world that is fully automated. Tracking every aircraft’s movements in real time and filing for fees automatically, successfully collecting 95% of fees – a track record unmatched anywhere else on the globe.

We have partnered with a South American nation to provide these solutions, installing the systems needed to generate crucial revenue for the country.

The Solution:

NavPass partnered with the country to install a network of secure satellites. We then implemented our unique AI system pinpointing the location of all airplanes in its skies in 3D.

This is integrated with an automatic system for charging fees for when airplanes enter and leave the airspace, which generates International Air Transport Association (IATA) compliant invoices, as well as e-invoices for online payment for non-IATA members.

As a result of this new infrastructure and our automated systems, the nation increased its collection of overflight fees by 58 per cent.
